Residents are reminding eveyone to spring ahead for Daylight Saving Time this weekend.

Pella Fire Chief Doug Van Gorkom says the changing of the clocks is also a good time to check on smoke detectors. He says batteries need to be kept fresh year round, and alarms need to be replaced every 10 years. The change to Daylight Saving Time was at 2 a.m. this morning.
