The Iowa Basketball Coaches Association’s annual high school all-star games took place Saturday at Dallas Center-Grimes High School, with several area athletes competing.

In the girls bracket, the Southeast fell to the Northeast 81-76 in the semifinals. Pella’s Kiara Bradley scored 15 points and Lynnville-Sully’s Brenna Lanser scored two.

The Southeast then won their consolation game over the Northwest, 97-84, with Lanser scoring ten and Bradley tallying three points.

Both teams featuring area boys lost their semifinal games. Pella’s Ryan Van Wyk scored 11 as the Southeast lost to Northeast 105-102, and Pleasantville’s Brady Elder scored two as the Southwest lost to the Northwest 90-80.

In the consolation game, the Southeast routed the Southwest 113-90. Van Wyk dropped in ten points while Elder scored two. Van Wyk was one of eight boys named to the day’s all-tournament team.
