National Autism Awareness Month is this month.

West Elementary Staff Member Holly VanWyk tells KNIA/KRLS News she quickly found out autistic students are amazing children that are very talented, passionate and outgoing and should be given the best treatment to possibly reach their potential just like everyone else. The Autism Society says Autism Awareness Month represents an excellent opportunity to promote autism awareness, autism acceptance and to draw attention to the tens of thousands facing an autism diagnosis each year.
