The Central College softball team is overlooking nobody when it comes to the Iowa Conference.

The No. 14 ranked Dutch are hoping to extend momentum from a sweep of Wartburg earlier this week when they travel to Indianola to take on Simpson. Head Coach George Wares says the Storm is in the midst of a rebuilding year with a new coach and a large crop of new talent after a big graduating class, but says they don’t intend to take their rivals lightly.

Central’s pitching staff has been a catalyst since they started their season in Iowa, giving up only 13 runs in their eight games. The Storm have struggled to generate much on offense, averaging just two runs per contest and hitting .208 through 22 games.
