A Sully man continues to share the story of his daughter who died of a rare blood disease.
Mike Hoogeveen, who has organized the annual Megan’s Legacy blood drive every December, has written a collection of poems about the life and loss of Megan titled Words I Could Not Speak.
Hoogeveen tells KNIA/KRLS News the poems were his way of coping during the difficult time, and didn’t initially intend to ever publish the material, but he was encouraged to do so a few years ago.
Hoogeveen says Megan, a Pella Christian alumna, died in 2011 from HLH.
