The Pella City Council held three public hearings and reviewed a wide range of resolutions at their meeting Tuesday.

A public hearing was held to approve a $100,000 contract to TK Concrete for cul-de-sac improvements on the west side of Caldwell Park. A pair of zoning ordinances also had a first reading approved, including a 5-1 approval vote on an amendment to boundaries of a commercial district on Washington Street and unanimous support for a request by St. Mary’s Catholic Church to change their land to institutional use for Central College.

The council also approved an additional $55,000 in one-time subsidies to Warrior Golf for operating Bos Landen Golf Course through a utility account credit and an operational subsidy for the current calendar year.

Public hearing dates were also set for June 6th to award road construction projects for reconstruction set to take place this summer on segments of East 3rd, Lincoln, and Elm Streets.

The council also approved the certified list for an upcoming promotion to lieutenant at the Pella Police Department.
