A Knoxville woman was arrested Wednesday and charged with burglary in the 3rd degree, a class D felony along with theft in the 3rd degree, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and failure to provide proof of financial liability.

McKenna Rutherford, 19, of Knoxville was arrested after being served with a warrant for an incident that took place on April 21st, 2017. According to court documents Rutherford is alleged to have stolen different items totaling $1,759.50 which included a registered brindle colored boxer, one 6 pack of an alcoholic beverage, a video game console, an iPad 2 Air, and a bluetooth oval speaker. The victim in the incident received a text message from her ex-husband which included a photo of Rutherford holding the brindle colored boxer. The dog was later returned to the victim. Rutherford was arrested and booked into the Marion County jail.
