A rural Knoxville home was destroyed by a fire Tuesday night.
Just before 9:30 p.m. a fire was reported at 837 Perry Street. First responders were called to the scene after the family who lived at the residence came home to find their home fully engulfed in flames. Knoxville Township Rural Fire Department was called to the scene with Melcher Dallas, Pleasantville, and Columbia Fire Departments assisting. Crews battled the blaze until close to 3:30 a.m. Wednesday morning. At approximately 7:15 a.m. Wednesday morning fire crews from Knoxville Township Rural Fire Department were again called to the residence after the fire rekindled, which was quickly extinguished. No injuries were reported but the home is a total loss.
