There isn’t a better time to play a career-best round than the NCAA Division III women’s golf tournament and yesterday that’s exactly what Central College junior Cierra Pulse did.

Pulse began her second round on the back-nine and finished with a 38 after birding the 18th hole. She continued the momentum, birding the first two holes on the front-nine on her way to shooting 37, totaling a career-low 75.

After a two-round total of 159 on the par-72 Bay Oaks Country Club, Pulse sits in a tie for 34th in the 116-player field.

As a team, Central moved up to 15th in the 22-team field after posting a 332 to go along with Tuesday’s 336 for a total of 668. Defending national champion Rhodes College leads the tournament at 601. With a three-round cut looming, Central is in position to make the top-15 team cutline.

Round three of the tourney continues today with Central teeing off at the end of the first wave of teams this morning.
