Knoxville High School students played host to Elementary Farm Day on Tuesday.

Knoxville High School Teacher Tiffany Johnston’s Advanced Animal Science students as well as FFA students brought farm animals to the high school lawn for West Elementary students to have a chance to see and pet as well as to learn more about them. Knoxville High School Student Caleb Hall tells KNIA/KRLS News the reason for the farm day is so elementary students have a chance to get to know the animals and learn more about them and what they are used for on the farm. West Elementary student Patrick Ruth tells KNIA/KRLS News the cows were his favorite part of the day because “people can milk them.” Patrick also says he liked spending the day with the animals because he was able to pet them and learn about them. The annual farm day event featured a variety of farm animals that were located in different learning stations which were taught by the high school students.
