Pella beat both Davenport Assumption and Fairfield Maharishi Saturday to advance to the final four of the boys state tennis tournament for the first time since the late 1990s.

The Little Dutch knocked off Assumption 5-1 in the morning substate match, then beat Maharishi 5-2 in the state quarterfinals Saturday afternoon.

The victories send Pella to the state semifinals on Tuesday, May 30th, in Des Moines.

The Pella girls were also scheduled to be in postseason action yesterday, but their regional final matchup in Ankeny against Ballard was postponed to this morning at 11am due to rain.
