Both red-hot PCM softball and baseball teams traveled to Heart of Iowa Conference opponent CMB last night and both came away with wins, with the softball team taking down #1 in class 2A CMB 5-1, and the baseball team winning 9-3.

Kayla Jennings pitched a gem in the circle, going the full game and allowing only three hits. The Raiders had multiple opportunities to score with the bases loaded in several innings, but Jennings and the Mustangs defense stayed strong. Jayci Vos had an RBI double in the win, while Regan Freland went 2-3 with a walk and a pair of RBI’s.

Derek Brown picked up the win and Noah Henkenius the save in the baseball win. The Mustangs were locked in a close game with the Raiders before an offensive explosion of four runs in the seventh sealed the victory. Ethan Thomas had a 3-3 night at the dish, with Ryan Hill going 1-3 with three RBI’s. The softball team remains undefeated at 4-0 and next play Friday at Gilbert, while the baseball team improves to 5-1 and play North Polk on Thursday.
