Lauren Van Wyk of Pella shot a 111 in the first round of the class 4A girls state golf tournament yesterday at Elmwood Country Club in Marshalltown.

Van Wyk is participating as an individual at the event, and currently sits in a tie for 41st place out of 55 golfers.

Washington’s Sarah Narcos leads the pack at the halfway mark by six strokes at seven over par 78.

The 36-hole tournament wraps up today.
