Brooke Jorgensen beat Pella High girls tennis teammate Lily Roozeboom yesterday afternoon for third place at the class 1-A girls state tennis tournament in Iowa City. The Lady Dutch doubles team of Bronwyn Metcalf and Cecily Johnson finished eighth.

In the singles semifinals, Jorgensen lost to Waterloo Columbus’ Olivia Fain, while Roozeboom was downed by eventual champion Anatta Charoenkul of Fairfield.

Metcalf and Johnson lost twice in the consolation bracket yesterday, to teams from Decorah and Dubuque Whalert.
