The PCM softball squad improved to 5-0 with a blowout win over Gilbert last night 14-3 in just five innings, while the baseball team fell in a tough luck loss to the Tigers 3-0.

Sophomore Maya Hegwood was the winning inside the circle for the Mustangs going the entire game, while the offense was full of hits and runs up and down the lineup. The baseball team had plenty of contact at the plate, unfortunately that didn’t translate into many hits for the Mustangs, as the Gilbert defense was strong. Braden Phifer took the loss on the mound despite throwing well and giving up only one walk. The baseball team falls to 4-3, and both teams will play in separate tournaments today.
