A day of patriotic history will be held at Marion County Park on Saturday, June 10th.

The day will begin at 7 a.m. with a flag raising. Following the flag raising the Lion’s Club will hold a pancake and sausage breakfast from 7 to 10:30 a.m. During the “Salute to Freedom,” the Marion County Historical Society will present a Civil War camp, drill and skirmish. Other activities included during the event are different vendors, a fashion show, a dance, a bake sale in the General Store and a program on Marion County Coal Mining by Doug Wilson, at 2:00 in School House. All buildings will be open to the public and admission is free.
