The Knoxville Baseball Squad will try for two more wins in the South Central Conference as Chariton comes to town for a varsity double header tonight. The Panthers are 6-0 in the conference and threatening to blow the race open. Coach Matt Miller tells KNIA/KRLS Sports they will likely get Chariton top two pitchers tonight, and his team will need to be ready for a battle. Across the way on Panther Drive the softball squad will welcome a struggling Chariton team that is 1-8 on the season and winless in the conference. While on paper the Panthers look to be a favorite, Coach Steph Christner tells KNIA/KRLS Sports her team must play with a give it all you got mentality. While Christner wants the girls to strive for perfection, she adds if things do not go their way, they need to forget it and move on. You can hear the softball game on AM 1320 and 95.3 KNIA and kniakrls.com at 7:30.
