On Monday the 2017 Marion County Fair Queen Candidates were announced.
Paige Busick, Ashlee Dethrow, Kaley Iddings, Alexia Lepley, Natalie Montgomery, and Kortney VanderLinden were all chosen to take part in the Fair Queen Competition on June 24th. With the new candidates set to compete for the 2017 crown, last year’s winner and current queen, Paige Anderson had a chance to reflect back on her year as royalty. Anderson tells KNIA/KRLS News as a young child she always wanted to be the fair queen but she never thought it would happen. So being named the 2017 fair queen was just an incredible experience. Anderson adds, this past year went so fast that she wishes she could hit a rewind button and do it all over again. As far as plans for the future, Andersons says she will help the new queen get ready for the state fair competition this summer before heading to college in the fall to study Equine Science at Black Hawk College.
