Over 7,000 hot rods and custom modified cars will be passing through Knoxville this weekend.
The Hot Rod Power Tour will make its way from Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City Saturday afternoon to the Iowa Speedway in Newton on Sunday morning. The tour’s path will take the unique cars through Knoxville Saturday evening allowing local residents to get a glimpse of vehicles not normally seen in Knoxville. Executive Director for the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame and Museum, Bob Baker tells KNIA/KRLS News people on the tour need to eat somewhere and they have to get fuel somewhere and Knoxville is right on there path. Baker adds, we have a great racetrack here that many of them will be interested as well as the museum, but some people might just be hungry and want to stop to get some food. Baker says, anything with four wheels is eligible to participate in the tour so residents might see more than just hot rods passing through town.
