Record-breaking heat is possible this weekend into early next week.
According to the National Weather Service, daytime highs are expected to reach the mid-to-upper 90s Saturday through Monday. Heat-index values are expected to top 100 degrees as well. Dr. Tim Yoder with Tri-County Veterinary Clinic reminds pet owners to pay extra attention to their animals as the weather heats up.
He reminds owners to provide plenty of water and shade to outdoor animals and to monitor them for any behavior resembling heat exhaustion or heat stroke.
