Near record-breaking weather is expected to last until Tuesday in central Iowa.

Meteorologist Kurt Kotenberg with the National Weather Service reminds residents to take extra care when the weather heats up. He says prolonged exposure to heat index values above 100 when not properly hydrated can lead to heat exhaustion or stroke.
