The Knoxville School Board met in regular session Monday.

Dawn Rankin was sworn in as the new Knoxville School Board Member replacing former board member Mike Helle. A report on the Child Nutrition Department was given which showed Knoxville School District was only owed $212.81 for unpaid student meal charges. The owed money comes after the school district implemented a student policy only allowing up to $40 per student owed in meal charges. The board made preliminary approval of an FFA trip request to the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis to take place from October 24th to October 28th. Approval was also given to complete the West Elementary Project which includes resurfacing the blacktop and removing the wood chips at the playground and replacing them with a rubber mulch material. The board also approved an Employee Wellness Program which would provide staff members a way of tracking healthy living habits to promote a healthy lifestyle.
