Knoxville Hospital & Clinics will be the first medical facility in Iowa to offer total knee replacement surgery using NAVIO robotics-assisted technology.
The NAVIO system is designed to deliver results through the utilization of a robotics-assisted handpiece, 3D surgical planning software, and special cutting guides. The system enables precise implant positioning while not requiring a preoperative CT scan. NAVIO robotics-assisted technology recently received final clearance from the US Food and Drug Administration and with that clearance orthopedic surgeon Dr. Todd Peterson will have access to the robotics-assisted technology when implanting the total knee system. Dr. Peterson will address the value of the new technology for joint replacement procedures at his seminar on June 21st in Indianola.
