Melcher-Dallas won the softball game while Twin Cedars took the baseball version of the Southern Marion County Showdown last night at Twin Cedars. The Saints pounded out 15 hits enroute to a 14/two win over their arch rivals. Emilie Krpan had nine strikeouts and scattered six hits. Hallie Parker and Haley Godfrey each had three R-B-I. Jensen Hastings took the loss going six innings giving up 11 runs on 13 hits, five walks and three strikeouts. While the softball game was a blowout the baseball game was close throughout and was won by Twin Cedars 8-6. The Sabers lead after two innings 4-0, but Melcher-Dallas responded with two in the third and four in fourth to lead 6-5, however the Sabers would shut down the Saints in the final three innings. Trace Embray got the win in relief going 3 2/3 innings allowing just one hit on one walk and mowing down ten Melcher-Dallas batters. Offensively Daniel Beary was 3/3 with and R-B-I and three stolen bases.
