The landscape at the Red Rock Hydroelectric Project is changing quickly now that powerhouse construction is underway.

Vern Cochran with Missouri River Energy Services told KNIA/KRLS News during a site tour this week that action is taking place above ground and progress can be seen daily. Cochran says the powerhouse is approximately halfway through completion, with work continuing on the intake structures and turbines.

The project is slated for completion in early 2019, and when finished, will generate enough power for 18,000 homes, or roughly the amount in Marion County.
