Not two weeks after a marathon 15-14 loss to conference rival Roland-Story in a weekend tournament, the bats were much quieter in a rematch for the PCM Mustang softball team, as they fell 1-0 to the Norse last night. The Baseball team came out ahead on the road trip with a 2-1 victory.

Kayla Jennings was stellar on the mound allowing only five hits, however Roland-Story got a clutch single in the fourth to drive in the game’s only run. The Mustangs had hard hit balls all night but couldn’t find a hole in the field, headlined by a Katie Vande Wall deep fly ball caught at the top of the fence. Abby Waddell had a double, while Jayci Vos had a single. PCM falls to 10-6 on the season.

The baseball team saw Noah Henkenius dominate on the mound allowing only five hits in six innings, while Brayton Van Dyke came in for the final inning and garnered a save. Reed Worth was 2-4 on the night, while Van Dyke and Henkenius each had a hit and an RBI. PCM improves to 11-4 on the season, and play Albia tonight.
