Students are gathering this week at the Pella Opera House to work on their own production of Robin Hood.

Show Directors Will Rasmussen and Ashley Uitermarkt tell KNIA/KRLS News the group is putting the production together themselves with guidance from veteran directors and crew members in the community. Both say the students participating are helping keep the tradition of live stage performances alive and well into the next generation of thespians.

“This is a live theater production, and so since we are the younger generation that is going to come and be the adults someday, we’re keeping the theater tradition alive,” Uitermarkt says.

Shows are scheduled Friday at 7 p.m. and Saturday at 2 p.m. Tickets are $5 and are available at the Opera House website or at the door.
