Independence Day celebrations will be taking place throughout Marion County to celebrate the 241st 4th of July holiday.

Knoxville, Pleasantville and Bussey will all be hosting fireworks on the 4th of July. Knoxville’s annual display will take place the evening of July 4th with fireworks being launched from the Knoxville Airport.

Pleasantville’s festivities will begin the evening of July 3rd with a celebration of “Merica” featuring the Iowa Beer Bus in downtown Pleasantville from 6 to 10 p.m. Pleasantville’s 4th of July Parade will begin at 11 a.m. on the 4th with this year’s theme being “Star-spangled Salute for the Red, White and Blue.” Different events, vendors and celebrations will be at Cora Shadle Memorial Park from 5 to 9 p.m. with the fireworks display beginning at dusk.

Bussey will begin their holiday celebration with a Family Fun Day on Sunday, July 2nd at North Park at 3 p.m. The day will include free events for all ages including a free hot dog, watermelon and chips meal. Bussey will hold their annual 4th of July Parade at 10 a.m. on the 4th, with fireworks at dusk.
