Pella Christian played host to a softball tournament Saturday at the Pella Sports Park, and the Eagles knocked off a pair of ranked foes.

Pella Christian, ranked eighth in class 2A, started the day with 1-0 win over Perry, the seventh ranked team in class 4A.

The Eagles then came back later in the day and knocked off class 1A #12 Belle Plaine, 6-1.

Pella Christian is now 21-5 on the season, and Friday’s win over Grinnell kept them in first place in the Little Hawkeye Conference at 12-4.

Both the Eagles’ softball and baseball squads will host Dallas Center-Grimes on Monday night. For girls, it’s a jayvee / varsity doubleheader, while the boys will play a pair of varsity games. Andrew Schneider will call the softball game live on 92.1 KRLS, beginning with first pitch at approximately 7:30.
