Trailing 3-0 heading into the fifth inning, the dormant bats of the PCM Mustang softball team blew up with a seven run inning to claim victory.
Jayci Vos led off the inning with a single, while Abby Waddell followed that up with a bunt single. Four straight RBI singles later from Courtney Bridges, Jennings, Brooke Nicholson, and Madi Foster would score four, and Anna Shaver hit her first homerun of the season to send in three more to cap off the inning. Kayla Jennings gave up just one earned run in a complete game to get the win in the circle, and the Mustangs as a team improve to 14-11. A tense game throughout had the baseball team on edge, but the Mustangs would pick up a victory over the Hawks 3-2. Noah Henkenius got the start and the win, but a seventh inning baserunner brought in Brayton Van Dyke for the save. Preston Van Wyk was 2-4 with a pair of doubles and runs scored, while Reed Worth was 2-3 with a run and an RBI. The Mustang baseball team is now 15-7 on the season.
