Both the Pella Christian baseball and softball teams are in action today.

The Eagle softball team, which clinched a share of the Little Hawkeye Conference championship with a win Wednesday at Newton, is done with league play.

They’re headed to Don Bosco today where they’ll play two games today and two games tomorrow in a tournament as final preparation for the regional tournament that starts next week.

Head Coach Karen Harrill says that she and her club have big aspirations for the postseason, but know that they need to be on top of their game.

“I don’t care who it is or what night it is, you better be ready to play or you’re going to be in trouble. We know that, and these kids know and they’re fighting hard because they want to be ranked higher, they want to go to state and we want to win state. That’s where we’re going, that’s our goals throughout, and we’ve got some pretty headsy goals coming up.”

For the Pella Christian baseball team, they travel to Oskaloosa tonight for a varsity doubleheader to close out Little Hawkeye Conference play.

The Eagles are currently in sixth place in the league, and can finish as high as fourth or as low as seventh depending on how the final games shake out.

First pitch of tonight’s twinbill starts at 5:30 in Osky.
