Pella’s baseball and softball teams had the weekend off, and will both be in action tonight.

The Little Dutch will play Knoxville in a preview of their first round district matchup.

With four games left in the regular season, Pella Coach Jesse Jablonski says that the number one priority is getting his pitching lined up for the playoffs.

“Tyler (Hillman) got the start on Friday, he’ll get the start again this Friday and then he’ll be in line to start the Friday after that for our playoff opener. Caleb (Piersma) and Landon (Vander Leest) have been our two and three starters, so we’re looking at what we’re going to do for our two starter heading into the playoffs. We’ll want to get both of those guys some work mid-week, and then again next Monday against Perry, and that will put them a week out from their playoff start.”

Tonight’s game between the Little Dutch and Panthers will be at Pella High and can be heard live on both KNIA & KRLS, with first pitch at 7:30.

Pella’s softball team is also in action tonight, as the Lady Dutch travel to Perry for a non-conference contest.
