During Thursday’s city council meeting the council approved unanimously to support the Knoxville Economic Development Commission in its development of five homes in the North Harlan addition.
Knoxville City Manager Aaron Adams tells KNIA/KRLS News the KEDC plans to construct two new homes this summer and three new homes next summer that will be priced at approximately $225,000 per home. The city’s support is needed for the KEDC to apply for the State of Iowa Workforce Housing Tax Credits and sales tax rebates for construction materials that will be used to help lower the cost of building the homes.
