The City of Pella celebrated Independence Day with activities and fireworks on the 4th of July.

Activities began with fishing at Caldwell Park, and continued games, crafts, frog catching, and inflatables in Central Park.

The annual parade featured dozens of entries, including the Pella Police Department, Marion County Sheriff’s Office, Local VFW and American Legion Members, the Pella City Council, Tulip Queen, and more.

In the evening, the Pella City Band performed patriotic music on the Tulip Toren before the annual fireworks display by Madison Elementary.

The KNIA/KRLS Big Red Radio and Lil’ Big Red Radio participated in local parades, and patriotic music was broadcast KNIA/KRLS throughout area fireworks celebrations.
