The Pella Christian baseball team surrendered six seventh-inning runs, but they had built enough of a cushion to earn a 9-6 win last night in Newton.
Kade Vander Molen’s third inning home run gave Pella Christian a 1-0 lead, and the Eagles put five across in the fourth to build a 6-0 lead. In that inning, Cole Webster had an RBI single and scored on a double steal.
Pella Christian got two more in the sixth, including a Will Dembski RBI double, and one last tally in the seventh.
The Eagles are 16-15 on the season, and at 10-11 in the LHC, they will finish in fourth place for an upper-half finish. Tonight is senior night for Pella Christian as they host Moravia in the final regular season contest.
