With a senior class of eight graduating from the PCM Mustang softball team, the roster for 2018 will have plenty of holes to fill.

Five of the top six batting averages will all depart the team, as well as ace pitcher Kayla Jennings who had a 13-9 record with 139 strikeouts. The squad does however, still have some returning talent to help with the transition to so many new plays.

Madison Foster hit .341 on the season for her junior campaign, while Anna Shaver took over the first base starting job and hit .329 with a home run. In more limited action, Regan Freland had 13 hits in 41 at bats to hit .317. In the pitching circle, Maya Hegwood got some time to show her stuff, going 4-4 in eight starts. Other than active returning players, the Mustangs are also looking to get help from some girls who were injured this season as well.

A full season recap of the Mustangs softball season can be heard on the Knoxville Hyvee Radio Coaches Corner in the coming weeks.
