It’s time to thank our area first responders.

The Knoxville Hy-Vee along with KNIA/KRLS Radio and the Marion County Emergency Management Agency will be bringing the first annual Marion County Public Safety Night Out to the residents of Marion County. Marion County Emergency Management Coordinator Jeff Anderson tells KNIA/KRLS News he hopes the night out will serve as a chance for the public to meet their first responders and tell them thank you. Anderson says, most of all, it will give a chance for the first responders to tell the public what they do, why they do it, what their needs are as well as a way to better the communication between the public and its first responders. The night out event is scheduled for Tuesday, August 1st from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and will feature food from the Hy-Vee grill for a free will donation offering. Law enforcement vehicles as well as fire trucks and ambulances from all over the county will all be on display on the square in downtown Knoxville as part of the event. The KNIA/KRLS L’ll Red Radio will be on hand to make announcements and play music.
