A project to move a water main from underneath a busy intersection in Pella will begin soon.

City Administrator Mike Nardini says the Pella City Council awarded an approximately $485,000 contract to relocate a water main from Clark Street to the west side of Pella Corporation’s campus. Nardini says any repairs needed to the current line would cause major traffic issues if the intersection of Clark and Truman were to be blocked for a significant amount of time.

The water main relocation near Pella Corporation is scheduled for completion in November.
