After just under three weeks without in-town service to the people of Melcher-Dallas, residents will once again be able to do their banking at Iowa State Savings Bank.

The bank has been closed following a fire on the Melcher-Dallas square that destroyed two businesses and severely damaged the bank. This past Wednesday the temporary bank building arrived, and now at 11 a.m. today the temporary bank will resume business for all its customers. The temporary bank will open at their temporary location on A Street South East beside the Northcote Meat Locker.

Bank CEO Stu Job tells KNIA/KRLS News he wants to thank all of the utility companies, contractors and staff that worked so hard, so fast, and in such horrible heat conditions to make reopening on target possible. Job says there is still organizing to do, furniture to be situated and final utilities to hook up. However, the basics will be in place for the bank to return service to the Melcher-Dallas community.
