For our number seven moment for Knoxville, Twin Cedars, and Melcher-Dallas this sports season we go to Twin Cedars were it was a dream sports year for senior Jake Crozier. In the fall, he led the Saber Football Squad to their best season in school history going 10-1, winning the district title and getting to the eight-man quarterfinals. During basketball season he broke the single season rebounding record that had stood since 1971. Crozier ended the season with 318 rebounds breaking the record set by Mike Laird. In an interview on the Marion County P-M Sports Page in late January, Crozier told KNIA/KRLS Sports while the record would be nice to have…wins are what is more important. In the spring, Crozier went on to qualify for the discus and shot put at the State Track and Field Meet. Crozier went on to finish sixth in the discus with a throw of 148 feet 11 inches, and fifth in the shot put with a toss of 50 feet 8.5 inches. His football efforts also netted him a spot on the University of Northern Iowa Football Squad. He signed a National Letter of Intent during the winter and will suit up for the Panthers this fall.
