Today we continue the countdown of the Top 10 sports stories of the 2016-2017 school year at PCM High School with number two.

Longtime standout wrestler Xavier Miller for the PCM wrestling team made it all the way to the state championship match in the 145lb weight class in 2A. After narrowly making it out of his first round matchup against Tate Battani of Ballard 10-8, Miller went on a tear in the quarterfinals and semifinals, taking down Paul Ryan of Mount Vernon and Matt Stines of Cherokee respectively, setting himself up against longtime champion Ryan Leisure of Clear Lake.

Leisure came in with a 67-0 record and had easily dispatched all opponents in his way, but Miller gave him one of his toughest matchups of the season. Miller eventually fell 5-0 to the Iowa State Commit and took runner-up status home. Miller had a season record of 48-3 on the season, and committed to continue wrestling at the next level at Grand View University.
