An event in downtown Pella this week aims to raise awareness and funds for children with Down Syndrome.
Carrie Andringa tells KNIA/KRLS News that lemonade will be sold next to a sprint car on display in front of Bruxvoort’s Decorating Center from 1 to 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Andringa’s daughter Emma has Down Syndrome, and she says proceeds benefit kids like her through Gigi’s Playhouse. Andringa says the organization based in Des Moines is starting tutoring services for children with Down Syndrome at Central College this fall.
