A Pella man is accused of defrauding Casey’s General Store of almost $6,000.

Gwynn Boat, 58, is charged with 2nd degree fraudulent practice, a class D felony. According to court records, Boat used COMDATA Checks to obtain cash from the Casey’s on Clark Street. COMDATA is a payment processor and issuer of fleet fuel cards, corporate spend cards, paperless payroll cards, virtual payments, and trucking permits. Police say Boat completed 17 transactions totalling $5,988, and transferred some of the funds via Western Union to an individual in Florida. Casey’s told police Boat had no permission to right, license, or privilege to use the checking system to withdraw money.

The Pella Police Department handled the investigation, and he was picked up on the Pella warrant by the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.
