David Gravel pulled off a perfect night at the 57th Annual Five Hour Energy Knoxville Nationals for the first time since Steve Kinser accomplished the feat in 1992. Gravel was quick time, won his heat, and won the A-Main to score 500 and lock himself on the pole for the Saturday Night A-Main event. Gravel passed Mark Dobmeier on a restart on lap 19 and stretched his lead out. Brian Brown completed the podium. Donny Schatz will start along side Gravel in the front row on Saturday night. Tonight over 70 drivers will try to re qualify with the top four from the A-Main locking into positions 17-20.
