Junior high students from the Twin Cedars School District spent most of Friday morning collecting food to donate to the victims of Hurricane Harvey.

7th grader Rylee Dunkin tells KNIA/KRLS News she thinks the food they collected is going to be very helpful and she his happy to help because the people dealing with the hurricane don’t have much. 8th grader Jetta Sterner tells KNIA/KRLS News she is worried about all the people and animals dealing with the flooding. Sterner says since she couldn’t go down and help, she is happy and proud she could at least do something. Principal Dave Roby organized the effort which had students visit organizations and businesses throughout Knoxville to collect as many non-perishable food items as they could, which were later packed up and shipped to Texas Friday afternoon.
