Tomorrow evening the Knoxville Community School District will be hosting a grand re-opening of the high school gym.

The evening will begin at 5 p.m., with the 9th grade volleyball team playing Chariton, followed by the Junior Varsity match and then the Varsity. The Varsity match will begin at approximately 7:30. There will be a short recognition ceremony before the start of the Varsity match to recognize and thank the many individuals responsible for the gym improvements. During the event all Knoxville Community School District students will receive free admission. Superintendent Cassi Pearson tells KNIA/KRLS News a new floor was installed as well as new score boards and a new Panther mural is on the wall.

The Knoxville Booster Club will also be distributing free popcorn and the Knoxville Alumni Association will have a booth in the high school commons where they will distribute free cookies and will also be passing out free t-shirts. Tomorrow’s event will also include contests between students for a chance to win free pizza, courtesy of Pizza Hut. The KNIA/KRLS Li’l Big Red Radio will be on hand playing music and making announcements. The event will also feature performances from the Knoxville High School pep band.
