Marion County voters will hit the polls to vote on who they feel will best represent their school district during today’s school board elections.

Knoxville voters, who will be voting on four school board spots will also see Proposition A on today’s ballot. Proposition A represents an increase in the Physical Plant and Equipment Levy for the district (PPEL). Superintendent Cassi Pearson tells KNIA/KRLS News a yes vote for Proposition A will mean the money created from the PPEL increase will be used to construct eight new tennis courts and an outdoor basketball court for the school district. Pearson says property taxes will not increase and will in fact decrease due to another decreasing levy.

Polls will open in Knoxville and Pleasantville at 7 a.m. and will stay open until 8 p.m while polling locations in Melcher-Dallas and Twin Cedars will open at noon and will close at 8 p.m. KNIA/KRLS News will have elections results for all of Marion County as unofficial results are announced after the polls close.
