Central College junior Brittany Coppess cashed in back-to-back birdie opportunities to end her final-round 78 at the 36-hole NCAA Division III Classic Sunday.

Coppess finished tied for seventh in the 88-player field with a two-day total of 157. The junior tallied four birdies Sunday to go along with a lone birdie in round one Saturday.

Central shot a second-round 337, adding to its first-round 331 to place ninth and tournament host Carleton College shot duplicate 313s to win the event by 14 strokes.

A one-day event at Indianola Country Club on September 27th is next for Central. Simpson College is hosting the event as a showcase for the 72-hole Iowa Conference tournament, as the first two rounds will be played at Pheasant Ridge Golf Club in Cedar Falls and the final 36 holes are played in Indianola.
