A Knoxville man was arrested Tuesday for his involvement in a domestic disturbance.

Tyler Hollingshead, 21, has been charged with neglect of a dependent person, a class C felony. According to court documents, just before 7 a.m. Tuesday law enforcement officers responded to a report of a domestic disturbance. Upon arrival officers were met by two victims who stated they had been physically assaulted by Hollingshead.

Hollingshead allegedly picked up his ex-girlfriend and mother of his child in his car as she was walking home from her current boyfriend’s home. Hollingshead allegedly starting yelling at the victim while their child was in the car, stating he would kill her, the child and then himself. He allegedly started driving erratically and had to swerve to miss a tree. The victim attempted to exit the vehicle but was grabbed by Hollingshead as he refused to let her leave. Hollingshead allegedly grabbed the victim by the head and slammed her face into the center console twice, causing pain in her face and neck. The victim’s current boyfriend arrived at the scene and attempted to intervene at which time Hollingshead exited his vehicle and tackled the boyfriend to the ground.

Hollingshead was arrested and charged with neglect of a dependent person as well as harassment 1st degree, assault causing injury, false imprisonment and domestic assault abuse with injury.
