The Pella Christian Cross Country teams dominated among a pool of smaller schools at the Montezuma invitational to wrap up their regular season.

The Eagles girls were once again paced by Emma Kolb, who placed first overall among girls with a 21:29. Pella Christian’s boys had four in the top 15, including meet runner-up Lucas Bandstra (19:20) and 3rd place finisher Brayton Juffer (5:41), which led to a first place finish for the team.

“It was a super intense course with some brutal hills that reflected in the times,” Eagles Head Coach Jocelyn Meinders said. “The race ends with a significant uphill followed directly by a sprint. Each of the PC athletes took advantage of that hill & many of them were able to pass other runners on the way up that hill.”

Pella Christian will be joined by the Pella Cross Country teams at the Little Hawkeye Conference invitational in Newton on Monday. Click here for full results for Pella Christian.
